Have you ever listed to a song on a loop? Some find it helps them enter a flow state while their working or maybe they just have a song in their head and feel the need to hear it again. Hearing a song constantly when you don't want to is very annoying. I feel bad for any seasonal workers hearing Christmas music nonstop for months. I got a small taste of that kind of torture in my childhood.
My family typically attended our county fair every year. This was a staple growing up and I always looked forward to going. It was mostly the same every year. I liked seeing the chickens, watching the acrobats, getting a free pen from some "got milk?" dairy comglomorate booth, among many others. My dad would buy some smoked meats and honey sticks and flavored milks. We'd often go the same day as other family members and run into them at the fairgrounds.
Typically, we would bring some kind of picnic and leave it in coolers in the car. You'd get your hand stamped for reentry so when we got hungry one of my parents would go retrieve the stuff from the car and we'd eat in the park. One year, my dad decided we actually would get food from one of the vendors. We ended up getting curly Q fries, but we found a picnic table in front of a pizza booth. They were playing Italian music. And by playing Italian music I mean playing "That's Amore" on a loop. It was the only song.
At first we found it funny. Everytime the song would restart we look at each other and laugh. It didn't take long before my father was asking us to hurry up and finish eating so we could move along. I feel so bad for whoever was working that booth. Hopefully they were able to tune it out.
