My Love - #30 Blaugust 2026
I am a married man so clearly I am required to share my wedding song.
My wife and I had a hard time agreeing on what our song would be. She wanted something really lovey-dovey and I didn't want to agree to a song I didn't like. I had a hard time even coming up with suggestions. My fun pick would have been "You're My Number One" off the Sonic R soundtrack (too upbeat for a first dance song so it didn't feel appropriate) and my champion would have been for R.E.M.'s "At My Most Beautiful". My wife, similarly, didn't really like any of my suggestions. It was something we were working on in the background while figuring out everything else for our wedding.
Since I work from home I decided to check out and album from the band 'temp.'. I heard of them from a video playlist of Thai indie rock bands. This song was part of the album. After I heard it felt it was a great contender. I introduced it to my wife since I felt it had the right amount of romanticism without taking itself too seriously. After one listen my wife agreed this would be our song.
We actually did our first dance twice. My mother in law wasn't going to attend the reception due to health issues so we had our first dance right after the ceremony and we had the proper first dance at the reception. Can't say I was thrilled for having to dance in front of everyone, but it was a special occasion.
