Tradition - #29 Blaugust 2026
Most of my posts have been earlier memories and I've been trying to think of anything more recent to my current life. Most music I hear is in the background while I work or cook. Well, I kind of have a minor tradition involving music.
Thanksgiving doesn't really have music associated with it. I usually take that week off of work and I'll cook our household's Thanksgiving meal a couple of days before the actual holiday. My kitchen is not that big so I split the cooking between the two days before the holiday. I have an album of Blossom Dearie's greatest hits and I don't typically listen to it in regular rotation. It's gained a special status over the last few years of being played while cooking for Thanksgiving.
